Lex K – Event Founder
With a passion for country music and helping others, Lex K founded Munna Creek Country Music Walk Up in 2018.
Lex K wanted a way of bringing everyday people together who love singing country songs and providing a friendly, laid-back setting to enjoy the music.
The Walk Up event was also a way of Lex K giving back to the Munna Creek community, somewhere his family has lived for over 130 years. All profits from the event go back to helping the Munna Creek community and maintaining the historic Munna Creek Hall – the centre of the small, close-knit community.
With ‘buy local, support local’ at the very heart of the Walk Up event, everything is proudly sourced locally, helping support the hardworking businesses in the area.
Munna Creek Hall was originally built in 1906, with materials donated by Munna Creek’s founding families. The hall became the centre of the community, playing host to countless music performances, old time dances and local family celebrations.
In the 1980s Munna Creek Hall was used less and over the years the hall gradually fell into a state of disrepair.
The historic Munna Creek Hall has now been lovingly restored to her former glory. The hall, the oldest community-used building in the Fraser Coast Regional Council area, is once again the centre of the small, close-knit Munna Creek community.
